Mysore Style Class

In a Mysore-style class, students practice the Ashtanga yoga sequence at their own pace, independently, with one-on-one guidance from the teacher but in a group setting. Instead of following verbal instructions for the whole group, each student commits to memorize the sequence and to practice it daily, according to their unique and individual physical and mental constitution. That is why the teacher offers personalized instruction, support as needed and hands-on adjustmentsas long as the student agrees.

This traditional method—named after the city of Mysore, India, where it originated—allows the students to develop a committed personal practice that evolves over time, within the community of a shala. New practitioners are welcome and will be taught gradually, step by step.

Led Class

In a Led Class, the teacher guides the entire group together through the sequence using the Sanskrit name of the asanas, Sanskrit count and verbal cues. Everyone moves and breathes in unison, following the traditional rhythm and timing.
