Teacher
Alice Viéville
Alice began her daily Ashtanga practice in 2014 after a chance introduction to the method in Andorra, Europe—an experience that sparked a profound and ongoing transformation in her life. Drawn deeply to the discipline, clarity, and inner strength cultivated through the practice, she began studying at Ashtanga Yoga Houston (AYH) in 2016 and made her first trip to Mysore that same year to study at the source of the lineage.
Since then, Alice has returned to India multiple times to study under the guidance of Paramaguru Sharath Jois, and in 2023, she received Level 2 Authorization to teach. These years of dedicated practice have shaped her path, both personally and professionally, and inform her approach to teaching—as a transmission of something sacred, meant to be shared with humility and care.
Alice began teaching at AYH in 2019 under the mentorship of Rachel Nystrom and brings to her students the same devotion and gratitude she feels for the lineage. Originally from South-Eastern France, Alice also has a background in education, teaching Spanish and French across Europe, China, and now the US through Direct French.
Her teaching is rooted in the traditional method as passed down by Sharathji Jois, and is offered in the spirit of service—to support students in experiencing the deeply transformative potential of the practice for themselves.
